Stallholder Info

Handmade in the Hunter Markets is committed to showcasing the very best the Hunter area has to offer. We are always on the lookout for items that are high quality and unique. In order to maintain these high standards, we operate differently from other markets.

We have several non-negotiable criteria for prospective stallholders who need to meet and agree to the following:

  • Handmade in the Hunter Markets is a market for handmade/homegrown items only
  • Stallholders must live in the Hunter Valley
  • Items for sale must be made in the Hunter in your home (not a family-owned factory)
  • The person who made the items must be the person who sells. An immediate family member may substitute in with prior approval of the market manager.

The markets run by application and approval only, and expects a permanent commitment to either the 2nd or 4th Saturday. There are no casual positions available.
 
Each stallholder must have appropriate business insurance and must submit a certificate of currency with their application. (If selling food, candles or beauty products there are additional requirements outlined in the application pack.)

Since the markets are small, we do not duplicate stallholder items. The market is set up with what is called “one-off-rights”. This means that we only have one stallholder who sells the item (one knitter, one card-maker, one apiarist etc). If you submit an application that duplicates what is already being sold in the market, you will be placed on a waiting list until a vacancy opens up.
